The Six Point Plan And The Black Cat
I’m a bit behind with my Beanos. Mainly due to my Eye and the Winter cost of living. Also, with a touch of Rugby too. However, it’s back to Weston Super Mare for the first time since early 2017.
01
Tescos in Trethomas for food tonight. It opens at 07:00, so it’s a double optimisation. There will be Chicken Salad sandwiches of course. Lovely lady who served me.

02
Despite what the website said, there was an app. Really gentle journey to Weston Super Mare.

03
The best Costa Coffee is a close Costa Coffee and you can’t start a Quality Beano without Coffee and a Bacon Roll.

04
Found The Black Cat and then onto the local Spoons, The Cabot Court for Cask Ale and Breakfast.

05

Superior Ales and Welcome. Full FTTC WiFi immediately puts it on the must revisit list.

It was go, if mighty cold and YouTube blocked the Journal video. Music no doubt. Better go back so that I can redo the Journal video.
20230304 Prelude mb02 Weston Super Mare Mar 23
An optimised departure but this time it’s for the opening of Tesco in Trethomas (07:00). The fact that it will be light then is a pleasant addition. Back to Weston Super Mare for the first time since 2017. However, this time there is only one Spoons. Park up in the multi storey and then it’s Costa and Spoons.

Garden – February 2023
he driest February since 1993. During the month I strimmed the edges of the lawn and then spiked it. It seems to be growing well despite the end of month coldness. On the Potato Chitting front all the seed Potatoes now have eyes and they are growing well. The first Casablancas will go in at the end of March, weather willing. I have some Spring Onions, now growing well on the window sill. The Tesco Bag for Life has come off them and they are lapping up the late winter sun. During the next month, I will be mowing the lawn, putting moss killer on it and prepping Potato bags.

Tiny Birthday Blogging
February is the month when you start to notice lighter mornings and evenings. Myself, I could do with double lighter mornings and forget the evenings. It’s all about the early morning starts to Beanos and driving in the dark on unlit roads is not my bag. However, February is also the month of Tiny Rebel’s birthday and this year they are eleven. So, maybe not on the exact day but it’s off to their Newport Bar to try out their Birthday Brews.

The Birthday Ales from the Left and the Right. All Keg.
And from the other end of the bar.
They say Blue, I say Green and not exactly sour

And time for a quick pit stop.

So, is there a rule that birthday beers need extra long names? The second beer was Cookie Dough Biscuit Mix Millionaire Shortbread. It really tasted of cookie dough and I really liked it.

And on to my last Birthday Ale as I was getting sleepy and I met someone from the Internet IRL. Fruit based beer for the old man with the loyalty app please?

So I left with still five Birthday beers left to try.

The Same But Slightly Different
It’s another Emergency Beano but what with the Rugby, slight tweaks to the schedule and a Spoons’ Full English to boot. Mainly because I feel like one and hang the recent price increase. That is the true spirit of an Emergency Beano.

The big news at the John Wallace Linton. They have gone all Pen and Wig. You just show your CAMRA card and you get the Real Ale beer discount. This is wonderful, really wonderful.

50% extra butter and the beans could have been hotter but overall tidy. I usually get 100% extra butter when I ask for extra. However, I’m didn’t pay any extra.
Rather superior Glamorgan Brewery glass with Boss Boom in it. Mostly conflicted, however as it’s The Pen & Wig it’s always a positive.

Back to Micros, in the Awesome Little Taphouse and it’s Magic Dragon from Wrexham. Not sure if it’s made from real Sheep. Could be an Untappd near miss?

And on to Tiny Rebel, where it was all Rugby. However downstairs in The Cwtch it was all Norwegian Yeast and Table Tennis.

And really fast WiFi too. Back next week for their Birthday.
