20230304 Prelude mb02 Weston Super Mare Mar 23
An optimised departure but this time it’s for the opening of Tesco in Trethomas (07:00). The fact that it will be light then is a pleasant addition. Back to Weston Super Mare for the first time since 2017. However, this time there is only one Spoons. Park up in the multi storey and then it’s Costa and Spoons.
Cheaper Petrol and Beer
06 January 2023
Back in the Beano saddle for 2023. The Beer House is only open on the Saturday (10% off for tagging them on Social Media), so it’s more of the Beer In Hand and The Orange Tree. Lots of Daily Tech News Show #CES2023 coverage on the way up.

And just across the road, a sign that I shouldn’t have filled up before I left. 2023 is going to be one of those years.

Things started to look up when I was given an app voucher for a hot drink in Costa Coffee tomorrow.

The Town Centre and on the way to The Kings Fee (Wetherspoon)

99p a Pint for Guest Ales. Helps with the Post Christmas spending.

Moving on to The Orange Tree, in need of Cobs.

Might, actually completely over did it with two cobs.

Opens at 12:00, seven days a week. Classic Pub.
The mb13 Journal – Hereford November 2022
This really is a lot of odds and stuff. Christmas lights, me burbling on, beer, chips and festive lights. The true spirit of Beanoing.
England and Wales
Starting without my wake up coffee is mainly a sign of my age. However, Pro Plus a half hour before I leave to keep me on my A game. Costa then the Kings Fee for the Wales match. West Midlands craft cans but sadly no Luxury, Festive Mince Pies. Wales were poor and Iran deserved to win. The Orange Tree is a must visit and the £2.50 cobs are excellent. I’m supporting Senegal now.

The mb12 Journal – Monmouth November 2022
Various odds from this Autumn mini beano. Thoughts, tech, beer and food. Casual and unrehearsed. And back to Monmouth but just for 24 hours. Despite the fact I said it wasn’t for for, mainly due to the lack of craft ale. It’s a return because it is close, easily accessible and Spoons open at 07:00 (bar opens at 09:00).
A frosty start. Two hot water bottles on the dash. Coffee and a Luxury Festive Mince Pie to start in The Kings Head. No problems with the egg supply in Spoons. Good quality Full English with extra butter. 6.5/10 and I’m a hard marker.
Hazy Beers that weren’t and should have sat long in the cellar and a Bottle of Boss that was actually quite good. I watched the Rugby and Wales lost.
Asking questions, yes you can walk into a Premier Inn for breakfast if you aren’t staying there. However, only if they have enough space and it will be more expensive than booked on line. So the overall rating for The Premier Inn All you can eat is 8/10. What would I improve. Bigger plates please.
To sum up. Wetherspoons good. Premier Inn very good. Slightly different products and different accessibility. However Bacon.
Of Apple and Eggs
Mostly Apple kit. A Beano where you want to start early and review Full English. Yes, The Kings Head have Eggs and extra butter is no problem. I had to defrost the car and it was only just getting light as I arrived. Two Festive Ales on at The Kings Head and at £2.29 a Pint, that’s not too shabby. Two of the regional ales and I didn’t move on. I even saw a bit of the Rugby. Wales lost.
mb10 2022 Gloucester Oktoberfest Candid Journal
Lots of odds, video of food containers without commentary, tech beer and despite what I said, lighting.
20211021 – Prelude mb05 Bristol October 21
Back since January 2021, scary cancellation on Wednesday, hopefully with sound, Bag drop at the Ibis. Knights Templar and Commercial Rooms for Fest. Left Handed in Giant Tap Room #Prelude #mb05 #Bristol #October2021
20211002 mb03 Day 01 Wrap
The art of the leaving time, spending my Beanos, to the second at the Regal, so good to be back at the Pelican, wet and windy and fast Premier Inn WiFi
#mb02 2021 Prelude
The end of August and the Bank Holiday weekend and I’m only on #mb02. Cooler morning but Summer is most certainly back. Hereford, Ludlow and Worcester and many Fine Ales. Grey but dry. It was an early morning yesterday.
