Brew Monster Caerphilly Taproom – August 2022
Fast WiFi, good access to Public Transport (when it runs) ands the Finest of Fine Ales. Saturdays from 12:00 and an excellent view into the Brew Hall. Â Shadowfax, a Belgian Pale Ale to start, 6.0 ABV and a we3ll deserved B++. Â Jinmenju, a Blackberry and Mango Pale Ale, lovely mouthfeel, fruity, full bodied and slightly sour. Really rather good, 4.8% ABV B++. Â Hafermann, a Mosiac Cryo Pale Ale weighing in at at 4.1% and very sessionable. Â Complex, hoppy, bitter and sweet and very drinkable. Happy B++.Â

Commercial Street Newport Costa Coffee still not open at 07:00, despite what the Costa Website says. However the Costa at the station opens at 06:00 and the lady behind the counter was excellent. Started in The John Wallace Linton, where the Hazy Jane (my Breakfast Beer of choice) was in plentiful supply.
The Pen And Wig (Newport – Dog Friendly) for 10:02. The joy of it being back to the way it was pre Rhona, Cask and Citra to boot.
Chip shops can be tricky on a Monday, so it was Plan B and 50p more to boot. However a good sized portion and just around the corner from Tiny Rebel.
Speaking of which. In the corner by the power and now next to the organic back wall. Nothing better than slowly drinking the afternoon away. Solid Monday.
Back Indoors
Back Indoors
Monday May 17 2021 and it’s back indoors and not straight through and out into the Carpark in The Tumble Inn. Although as it is called

Not very secret and more like the carpark. Although when the wind dropped and it didn’t rain it really was rather pleasant and the staff were real troopers. I wonder it the secret garden will still be open as I’m not sure where the 314 will all go?

Time to go in. Still there is Covid security in place. Me, I’m more of an app punter. Got there early and it was already full with pushchairs and babies already awaiting entry.

The World shortage of beers is already showing up. Had to exchange a Camden Hells for a BrewDog Elvis Juice.

And before you ask the Secret Garden is still open should you wish to sit out side. Also while we were all siting outside Hard Seltzer became a thing. Strange times indeed.

And to end on a positive note, Steak Tuesday and Curry Thursday are back. Getting there.
