Garden – July 2022
July was the month when we had an Amber Heat Warning, the threat of a hose pipe ban and everything bar the Strawberries being approximately a month late. However, as I write this it’s been a rather damp weekend. Enough to fill the reservoirs? No, but good enough to stop going out with a watering can for the next couple of days. Casablanca are my new favourite potatoes, I have had a really good crop from them this year and they make great chips. My Japanese Summer Onions Senshyu are ready and I have been eating them for the last week. Not too strong and really crunchy, the only thing is that they do not store well. Pull them up and eat them straight away. Having slightly better luck with Spring Onions and half of my Tomato Plants are finally flowing.
LolFest X – Thunderstorms & Buses
So you have an app for the buses which shows you if they are running late. What it doesn’t do is show you if they are cancelled. I just shows you that they are running on time and they just never arrive. Public transport isn’t really for the Public. Prepping in The Malcolm for the first LolFfest since December 2019. In the meantime Storm Dennis flooded the brewery and The Rhonda shut it down.
Anyway it rained, it Thundered and it Lightninged. Three UK had installed 5G locally and I arrived 30 minutes early. However I was able to bag my favourite seat in the corner. At least until the live music started. The Beers were great and I also came away with a hoodie. Apparently there’s another LolFfest in August. Good times.

20220608 mb08 Day 03 Wrap
Lots of early morning things. The joys of remote Beanoing. Moving my iPad Pro SIM from Three to Smarty. Replacing my Chromebook which had gone End of Life. The last full day. Bacon Rolls are back in Costa. Petrol pushing £2.00 a litre in some parts of the UK, is this Beano limiting. It certainly looks like it. All Cask Ale in The Regal whilst listening to MacBreak Weekly. The Pelican’s WiFi is down and it’s not even raining. Luckily Mike is on hand with the backup WiFi. Belgian Ales from Scotland and Stockport whilst outside Cloudbursts. And there you go, it just went.
And The Bridge Was Up
Leaving the Hereford Travelodge at 05:25 on a grey and showery Monday morning. Wake took me along the M50 instead of the all cross country route suggested by Google Maps. I like Waze. Coming into the Quays, the bridge was up and the red lights were flashing. The Tall Ships were leaving Gloucester and looked very impressive. Another free large Cappuccino on the Costa app and Salad Leaves seeds amongst other things from Sainsbury’s. Turning The Lord High Constable of England into a recording studio, also taking advantage of the FTTC WiFi. An announcement of a vote of no confidence was made for today. Platty Joobs over and Politics are back. Bunting coming down too. Tank, Amazon Lockers at the Premier Inn and Brewhouse & Kitchen.
20220606 Prelude mb08 Gloucester June 22
Up at 03:00 which seems to be a thing with my Beanos. Left Hereford at 05:25 and it rained all the way to Gloucester. Waze took me via the M50 where as Google Maps would have been all cross country. Got to The Quays and the Bridge was up. All the Tall Ships were on their way out of Gloucester. They looked very good despite the rain. Validated the car at the Premier Inn, although I suspect not a lot of their guests arrived at 06:30. Another free Cappuccino at Costa, courtesy of the app. Food from the local Sainsbury for tonight. The day way be The Lord High Constable of England, Tank and The BrewHouse and Kitchen. The Premier Inn for WWDC 2022 and maybe my keyboard will have arrived by then
20220605 mb07 Day 02 Wrap
So my first video failed at 97% uploaded, re-did the 4K to 1080p. Faster WiFi is required. A day of mostly grey and rain. Ordered a Logitech mini keyboard with a delivery in Gloucester. Hazy Jane for Breakfast. Tesco, mid morning then the Hereford Beer House. Jonny pops in, should do a Podcast. Wales play Football and win.
Platty Joobs
So it hammered down overnight. It’s a grey and showery day. Yesterday’s Beer Video failed at 97%, so I redid it in 1080p and re-uploaded it. Ordered a new Logitech Mini Keyboard, for delivery on Monday to the Premier Inn in Gloucester. That is becoming an Apple Announcement thing. The Kings Fee for a Hazy Jane start to the day. Jonny showed up at the Hereford Beer House for a Fine Ale and Beer discussion. Me, lots of Fine Ales before the Wales match.
