Garden – May 2022
It’s all about germination and May 2022 was a microcosm of it all. Salad leaves and garden mint, slow and both have been reseeded. Tomato seeds, all germinated and are growing well. Peppers and Cucumbers, a very mixed bag. Radish, fast and a hundred percent. The lawn is looking better and all the Potatoes are growing well. Mind you, I think that’s a lot to do with the weather. May was raining days then summery sunny day. Of course the best growing were the weeds yet again. However, twas ever thus.

And we are off. Multiple containers of Casablance (first earlies), Stuttgarter to make up for the Summer Onions who did not make it through the winter. Radish, which have already germinated, various Spring Onions, some of which have already germinated. Chives (a first), Salad Leaves, Mint, Lemon Basil and some new Everbearing Strawberries on the way. The lawn has been left unmown as it is still patching. The weather hot days with a touch of overnight frost. Cooler weather in early April forecast.

Garden – June 2021
Where April started, May completed and it was a cold wash out as well. June has actually introduced Summer and I find myself hoping for more overnight rain. So due to May, everything planted out is at least two weeks behind. The earlies are just showing the first signs of flowering and it’s out with the watering can every morning to keep things going. The first of the bush tomatoes were planted out ten minutes before the video was taken and the Cucumbers will be following then spoon. The weeds in the garden are a constant headache and I’m pulling them up every night, not that you can tell.

Garden – April 2020
March was a funny month as I’m sure you all can guess. So with the fence being mostly down and the Corona Virus, nothing much happened. However the fence is now back up, I have 13 seed potatoes (Red Duck of York) planted in various bags and containers. However, I’m now out of compost and I can’t just pop out to get some. The Summer Onions are coming on well and I’ve planted some maincrop sets to replace those that failed. On the indoor front. I have planted, White an Red Spring Onions, Lemon Basil and Garden Mint. Oh and I think we are having a drought. 2020 is turning out to be one hell of a year.
