Garden – September 2023
September, the watershed month. The end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. However, in the Lovely Lower Rhymney Valley, it was marked by a heatwave and it was out with the watering can again. It lasted about ten days and then it was back to sunshine and showers but at least it was warm. The Summer Onion Sets arrived and I have planted them in five pots already, so I’m well ahead of schedule. I had my first Crimson Crush Tomatoes and Cucumbers from the garden during the month. The rest of the Bush Tomatoes and the Peppers are still a month behind but I have high hopes for them as long as we don’t get a frost. Indoors, the Lemon Basil is still doing well and I am now into the Spring Onions.

Garden – August 2023
Well, August 2023 was officially in Autumn. Rainy, grey and with a couple of named storms as well. Still, lots of positives, less use of the watering can. Potatoes from the garden. Lots of mint and Lemon Basil. Four Crimson Tomatoes and an ever growing lawn. All the Peppers are planted on and the Tomato Bushes are coming on well. Need more compost for the soon to be arriving Autumn Onion Sets. It’s Harvest Home.
August’s Humid Last Gasp
As it already turns more Autumnal, it Spoons Full English and a Pint for Breakfast. Extra Butter but at no extra cost. Walking to the Hereford Beer House it was spotting and rather humid. Sitting in the corner of the Hereford Beer House was the most relaxing best of times. Fine Ales Plus.

Hearing on the radio that Bernie Marsden had died on Thursday. Listening to Mac OS Ken’s lack of advertising and signing up for his Patreon. Had an X like. Big queues for The Hereford Indie Food Festival and the weather has now turned mostly sunny. Great draft ales in the Hereford Beer House. End of the day hammering down.
Podcasting Times Are Hard
All rather grey and cool to start the day. Then it rained and by Spoons time it had cheered up. Was listening to the Mac OS Ken Podcast and it is shocking how empty his advertising schedule was going up to the new year. Signed up to his Patreon. Had an X like. The Hereford Beer House. Very Fine Ales and Great Beer talk. The sun shone.
