The mb12 Journal – Gloucester September 2023
So no deal on Bacon Rolls and Coffee at the Costa Coffee next the The Gloucester Quays Premier Inn. Slightly scary at £7.55. Making it back by using as much of their WiFi as possible. Times are hard.
Next to The Tank Craft Beer Bar, the Canal Bridge rises to let a narrow boat through. An interesting start to the day.
My first time at a Five Guys. Small chips are enough.
Inside of the The Pelican Inn and inside of Gloucester Brewery’s Warehouse 4 Sunday afternoon Oktoberfest.
20230930 mb12 Day 02 Wrap
So Sainsbury’s Chicken Salad Sandwiches at 04:30 and leaving the Mac to upload to YouTube while I went to Costa Coffee. Salopian and BrewDog hoppy start. Five Guys probably worth the money but note every week. Deya on cask at the Pelican.

The Staying Awake Day
Lots of Costa Coffee to keep me awake today but then Salopian and BrewDog citrus hoppiness turned up to spoil it all. First time in a Five Guys, wish the burgers were wider not taller and the small serving of chips is plenty. Not cheap but very good.
Back to The Pelican, Gloucester. Fine Ale and Fast WiFi central. You don’t often see Deya on cask. Lots of Rugby fans and then it went quiet.

British And Original Festbiers
Dark start. No street lights and 20 mph, Oh the joy. The traffic seemed much faster on the M4 today. The M5 was pleasant as dawn gently arrived. Extra Nectar points at the local Sainsbury and no Bacon Roll and Coffee breakfast deal at the Gloucester Quays Costa Coffee. A new carpet in The Lord High Constable of England.
The Brewhouse and Kitchen and falling asleep in Warehouse 4. Did I want a glass of water?
20230929 Prelude mb12 Gloucester September 23
I didn’t think Oktoberfest Gloucester 2023 was going to happen but in the end it was announced and now here I am back in Gloucester on a very pleasant Friday, at the end of September. Kick off is at 12:00 in Warehouse 4 of The Gloucester Brewery.
Garden – September 2023
September, the watershed month. The end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn. However, in the Lovely Lower Rhymney Valley, it was marked by a heatwave and it was out with the watering can again. It lasted about ten days and then it was back to sunshine and showers but at least it was warm. The Summer Onion Sets arrived and I have planted them in five pots already, so I’m well ahead of schedule. I had my first Crimson Crush Tomatoes and Cucumbers from the garden during the month. The rest of the Bush Tomatoes and the Peppers are still a month behind but I have high hopes for them as long as we don’t get a frost. Indoors, the Lemon Basil is still doing well and I am now into the Spring Onions.
