The Art of Timing
The M4 between the second Servern Crossing and the M5 between the M4 and Gloucester are both unlit, so I’m aimed to leave just as it was getting light. It worked out really well, so I parked up, had a Bacon Roll and Coffee in Costa and still arrived at The Regal (Wetherspoons) Gloucester for 08:00. The pub and the bar opening time.
The Regal quickly filled up both with professional drinkers and Rugby fans. Despite the high positive test result numbers it looks like the Rhonda is only having a marginal effect. Oh and The Regal has a King Kong model as well.
Still raining but the Pelican opened at the dot at 12:00. Awesome Pub, Awesome Ales and an Awesome welcome. New WiFi password as well. Rained a lot as well.
Bear on the Fence
Dingle Road is favourite UK Railway Station if for no other reason than the name. Today there was a Teddy Bear on the fence. I liked it. Pubs are much better when you can go to the bar, but I still like contactless payments. And the Plassey Chop Bar is the best value of all my favourite Chippies. Into Crafty Devil’s Penarth Cellar, which the VOG Council is doing it’s best to make unprofitable. I suppose the £6.35 Pint I had there was to make up for it. Still quality Pint. And by that time, I’s had enough. I must be getting old, luckily it was a direct train home.
A Gentle Sunday
Time just disappears, another cool start. Full English with a revised menu, in The Kings Fee to start. Cask Ale at 09:00 and the joy of the Internet. Meeting people IRL and it was wonderful. And yes, I the beers I post I fully drink. I’m not a ticker.
Lessons, this time this year in much like this time last year. Be safe, make the most of it whilst you can. The Sun Light shining throught your Bier at the Hereford Bier House is something to remember. And, only time will tell.
Which Country to Drink in?
Costa seems to be 08:00 on a Saturday and it was back to the market still for my morning Coffee and Bacon. Very much when Saturday Comes in The Kings Fee. The Saturday Wrap will be 1080p due to the lovely FTTC.
Sunny and in the Beer House I seem to be drinking from Cans and Bottles that have green in their design. Bit radical but it works for me. Arsenal lost 5-0. Good times.
Later In The Day
Does Costa Coffee know what time that they actually open? First the Internet was wrong and know the doors are wrong and the Internet is right. Anyway, Spoons do rather good hanging baskets. A pint of Pepsi Max and a lump of Lime to start.
The onion rings now come with a lemon hand wash towel. And there were two trainee guide dogs that came in for a rest.
The Beer House is overwhelmed with excitement about Ronaldo going to United. Fine Ales and Football match up with each other so well. For me it’s a Märzen in the correct branded glass. And Ronaldo has now signed while I am drinking a landbier. Fine Glassware and even the exact Earthenware. Things don’t get better than this.
On Time Thursday
An early start but English trains are larger and on time, if not early. Maybe my last visit to the up for sale Postal Order in Worcester. You know you are having a good time when the time just disappears. But it’s good.
Opening times, I’m turning into Retired Martin, however Bacon Baguette. Hoplord ever more Awesome than last time. I need to speed more time there and the Plough, Obvs.
It got hot, it got very hot. A little bit of a German & Belgian Fine Ale session in Hop Lords and then an air conned train. Summer Beanoing, make the most of it while you can.
Brewing By The Railway
Grey but mild and only two spaces left in the Travelodge car park. Happy Costa Bacon and Coffee to start the day. The Kings Fee where they are testing the new Chicken menu. Different train apps and very different ways of working. However FTTC, so Winning there.
Of course the Transport for Wales Class 175 was late however the Ludlow Brewery is only 100 yards from the Station. Traditional in outlook, however Cask forward and with Derailed brewing as their Keg subsidiary.
Of course the train was late returning to Hereford. Checking into my overnighter and then did some work work. Back out to The Beer in Hand Hereford. Excellent beer retreat but needs WiFi and to open earlier. Well past my bed time.
Embrace The Opaque
Commercial Street Newport Costa Coffee still not open at 07:00, despite what the Costa Website says. However the Costa at the station opens at 06:00 and the lady behind the counter was excellent. Started in The John Wallace Linton, where the Hazy Jane (my Breakfast Beer of choice) was in plentiful supply.
The Pen And Wig (Newport – Dog Friendly) for 10:02. The joy of it being back to the way it was pre Rhona, Cask and Citra to boot.
Chip shops can be tricky on a Monday, so it was Plan B and 50p more to boot. However a good sized portion and just around the corner from Tiny Rebel.
Speaking of which. In the corner by the power and now next to the organic back wall. Nothing better than slowly drinking the afternoon away. Solid Monday.
