British And Original Festbiers
Dark start. No street lights and 20 mph, Oh the joy. The traffic seemed much faster on the M4 today. The M5 was pleasant as dawn gently arrived. Extra Nectar points at the local Sainsbury and no Bacon Roll and Coffee breakfast deal at the Gloucester Quays Costa Coffee. A new carpet in The Lord High Constable of England.
The Brewhouse and Kitchen and falling asleep in Warehouse 4. Did I want a glass of water?
20230623 Prelude mb10 Hereford June 23
Starting in Premier Inn, Portishead with an All You Can Eat Full English. It’s rather cloudy. Then avoid the traffic with a late start, it’s off to Hereford via Newport. Get Petrol, park up and then a Costa with a Bacon Roll. The Orange Tree for Real Ales and Filled Rolls.
20230622 mb09 Day 01 Wrap
You leave earlier than you need to, to avoid the M4 traffic. You sit in the carpark at the Portishead Premier Inn and watch the world go by. 07:00, a Sainsbury’s meal deal for breakfast. 08:00, The Posset Cup for a fruit based drink and a bottle of Welsh Water before some Fine Ales. Curry Thursday despite there being a World Mango Chutney shortage. When you discover the Siren’s Calling doesn’t open until 16:00 on a Thursday. Back to The Posset Cup for a Doombar then check into The Premier Inn.
Planned and Planning
When do you plan your departure so that you don’t get stuck with all the motorway traffic, that’s a quality plan. When you turn up at The Siren’s Call just after 13:00 and you see that they don’t open two until 16:00 on a Thursday. That’s a total lack of planning. Anyway, it was breakfast meal deal from Sainsbury’s and then straight into The Posset Cup for 08:00, some orange juice and some bottled water which was from Brecon. Then a couple of pints, a can and a Curry Thursday. It wasn’t so bad, anyway returned back to the Posset Cup for a pint of Doombar. Then checked in to the Premier Inn.

20230606 mb07 Day 03 Wrap
Another grey and cold morning with maybe a hint of damp in the air. Downloaded an update to Detail Duo and now I am trialling it. Both Spoons for the last day. Recording the WWDC Wrap. A gentle afternoon in The Pelican, discussing The Good Life.
In a New Vision World
I think Vision Pro will slowly change computing, meanwhile in Gloucester it was grey and cool again. Grey and cold. Both Gloucester Spoons and an afternoon of Fine Ales in The Pelican Inn.
20230605 mb07 Day 02 Wrap
Not only a very cold wind but a rather grey sky until mid morning. Full English in the Beefeater with lots of darker, better cooked sausages. Detail Duo and a query on Discord. Great brewed on site Fine Ales at the Brewhouse and Kitchen but the WiFI is poor. A Superior Sour in Warehouse 4 where there is fine WiFi and there will be a Gloucester Oktoberfest 2023.
And then there was WWDC23. No M3 but updates to the Mac Studio and Mac Pro. Actionable Widgets and better Airdrop. Lots of opportunities for more Belkin accessories. The Vision Pro, very expensive but I think it’s the start of something very big.
There Will Be A 2023 Oktoberfest Gloucester
I knew there was going to be a cold wind to start but it was grey and cloudy and definitely not High Summer. I decided to stay on the Quays, because I am lazy and I wanted to shake things up about. Brewhouse and Kitchen scores very highly on customers service an CAMRA discount but not on the WiFi.
Warehouse 4 now has a sour but it only had a third left. Maybe 22p worth? Talked to a Manager who confirmed that Gloucester Brewery will be having an Oktoberfest in 2023. The Apple web store is down.
20230604 mb07 Day 01 Wrap
When you leave 15 minutes early and you only get delayed for 10 minutes on the bridge. Also being in the middle lane helped too. Still with the cold wind again. The Lord High Constable and The Pelican while there was a race for life. Cheese and Onion Rolls with a Pint of Murk. Then there was another Birthday Ale, this time from Brew York. A Collab with Lervig at 12% with Cherries.
