High Summer Rain

Of course, High Summer, Wimbledon Fortnight and it’s raining. Actually, it’s the second day of rain. An Emergency (Tuesday) Beano in the City of my birth, Newport. Bus on time and starting in The John Wallace Linton, as usual.

Beers at 08:00, unlike Caerphilly

Welsh Spoon s and two Welsh Guest Ales. Had better to be honest. May have been on more than three days?

Went with the Wrecker

To be honest, the Pump Clip is much better than the actual Ale. However, it was cheap and the WiFi was fast. Re upped with DTNS on Twitch with Amazon Prime. Support your quality Podcast.

Moving on and trying to find an ATM that does fivers (for the lunch time chippy visit) and failing. Came away with a tenner and the back entrance to the Pen and Wig.

Beer Garden empty

More Welsh Ales. This time from Tomos and Lilford in The Vale of Glamorgan. Peachy and very Summery.

Golden Ale Spotted

Nursing the Pint then on to The Harbour Fish bar which was of course shut but opened two minutes later.

I made a little video, which did very well on YouTube. No doubt due to The Castle Class HST in the background

They were the Finest Chips

Plenty of Salt and Vinegar, of course and then onto Tiny Rebel’s Newport Bar. Which is excellent on a Tuesday. My Untappd unique stats were heartily improved.

I sat inside.

Discussed Tiny Rebel Fest and drank their Fine Ales.

Slow sipping is av thing and then it was time to go home via the Market Bus Station.

The Mild Christmas Eve

The day before Christmas and it’s time to count my blessings. Starting early with a Luxury, Festive Mince Pie.  One and a half in the Pen & Wig with a discount for my CAMRA card. You can’t beat a quality tray of chips on Christmas Eve, even when you are overlooking Newport Railway Station. On to The Little Tap House, where Arfur popped in. Forgot to video that bit. I ended up in Tiny Rebel, drinking Cask and gaining TR rewards. Very rather sleepy on the bus.

Not Trusting The App

A Saturday Emergency Beano. An RTA on Newport Road. The bus before mine I saw tacking the Graig-y-Rhacca route. The Stagecoach App said everything was fine. I decided to wait at the bus stop on the Graig-y-Rhacca route. I was right. And while we are at it, what is it with PIA and the Cloud’s captive portal under iOS? Still it didn’t rain. Tiny Rebel Newport, not quite back to normal. I miss the fridge full of Guest Fine Ales. And it was the 50A back home.
