When you leave 15 minutes early and you only get delayed for 10 minutes on the bridge. Also being in the middle lane helped too. Still with the cold wind again. The Lord High Constable and The Pelican while there was a race for life. Cheese and Onion Rolls with a Pint of Murk. Then there was another Birthday Ale, this time from Brew York. A Collab with Lervig at 12% with Cherries.

Got those free Sats by listening to Podcasts on the Fountain. A light departure meant the sun in my eyes, visor down. Rather fresh on arrival and a non Premier Inn fire alarm going off. Costa Bacon Roll and Coffee are great but now hugely expensive. This makes the Premier Inn All You Can Eat Breakfast even better value. Watching a Spoons Barmaid refusing to serve a gentleman at 09:00 as he was already drunk, she did a very good job. Lemon, Lime and Orange slices numb my palate. Sheep are welcome in The Turks Head but no Morris Dancing. Sometimes the best aren’t best and The Pelican was packed out. Sunny Beano.

Clear in the dark then very foggy in the light. That was the journey from Bedwas to Portishead and Portishead really is nice, especially the Marina area. With a Sainsbury opposite the Premier Inn and a Spoons just across the bridge from Sainsbury, it’s all very compact. The Marina looked lovely with the now clearing fog on it. The Posset Cup (Spoons) was packed and the Siren’s Calling lets you eat chips from the chippy next door. Full speed FTTC WiFi and fridges with more than 100 bottles of Belgian Beers in them. Sunny in the afternoon.

A frosty, clear and hot water bottle start. A clear sky meant a mostly light journey to Hereford. The Prelude was missing a video from Detail Duo, mostly my fault. My right eye was watery but my blocked ear seems to be getting better. Frosty in Hereford too.
I didn’t fancy the Cask at The Kings Fee, mostly old Fest Ales. So after the fruit based start, it was straight on the bottled Craft. Lunch was local cask ale and filled rolls in The Orange Tree. The Beer house didn’t open until 16:00, so it was extra time in The Orange Tree. However, superb beers on tap at Beer House.

Looking out of the window to see frost on the car windscreens. So it was a two water bottles on the dash day. Some light snow flurries on the journey up and it was mostly light from Monmouth onwards. Costa Coffee and Bacon Rolls to start, then a Fruit based drink while The Prelude uploaded. Happy Birthday from Cloudwater in The Hereford Beer House. Exchanging a Bag for Life in Tesco and then the Beano is over.

The Full moon was no help at all. Hereford was cooler, dry and less windy. Petrol was £145.9. A crazed Costa door and a reward for a hot drink for Saturday. Pay Store on Fire HD 8+ 10th Generation. 99p a Pint for Guest Ales. Then in a Jug. The Orange Tree where I over did it on the Cobs and of course I had an early night.

It’s been since June and with a dry start but with spray. Not keen on dipped headlights. Hereford is Christmasy but there are no lights on the tree. Costa Coffee and Bacon. Almost no Luxury, Festive Mince Pies. Wales were awful and Senegal are now the boys. The Orange Tree is first class and their Cobs at £2.50 are huge. Didn’t quite make The Beer in Hand.

It’s good driving at dawn when the roads are quiet, the odd spot of mist too. The M50 and DH Unplugged. Then cross country and the roads became narrower and narrower. The Premier Inn looks nice but it is a 45 minute walk away from Spoons. Thinking taxi. Spoons, The Foley Arms is a Hotel and has blisteringly fast FTTC. Maybe stay there next time? The Beer Fest continues. The Weavers Real Ale House, cask, keg, fridge and fast FTTC.
