20230624 mb10 Day 02 Wrap
Begin the day with a Cappuccino and a Bacon Roll deal and then head to The King’s Fee to start the Pub Day with a fruit based drink. Later, a Jug! In Spoons, life is strange. Lots of fans in The Hereford Beer House and where did the day go?
Jugs and Coups
Begin the day with a Costa Cappuccino and Bacon Roll. A touch of Aircon too. A Jug in Spoons, didn’t ask for one, just happened. The Beer House with lots of fans. Fine times indeed.

So you use AI to create royalty free music, in this case rock music and you pre register it with your YouTube channel. Then an Apollo T-shirt with a money off voucher code. The Premier Inn Full English was a winner again. Left Portishead about 09:10 and although the traffic was heavy, it was free flowing. On the cross country part of the route, it started to rain and it was spotting in Hereford. Filled up at Sainsbury’s in Hereford at a much better 137.9p a litre. The Imperial was late opening for essential maintenance, so I ended up in the Herdsman. No Real Ale but a nicely cool Pint to Worthington Cream Flow.
Next on to The Orange Tree, for Real Ales, Aircon, Filled Rolls and fast WiFi. I ended up spending the afternoon there.
Rain and Humidity
Generated some AI Rock Music from me mubert .com and order an Apollo (app) T-shirt from the states. Hats off to Premier Inn for their all you can eat Full English. Left Portishead just after 09:00 and the traffic was flowing freely. It started to rain just outside Hereford. Filled up at Sainsbury’s at 137.9 a litre. Parked up and went to the Imperial, which was closed due to maintenance.
Ended up in The Herdsman where they had no Real Ale, ended up with Worthington Cream Flow, which at least was cool. The Orange Tree did have Real Ales, twelve lines and of course Filled Rolls.

You leave earlier than you need to, to avoid the M4 traffic. You sit in the carpark at the Portishead Premier Inn and watch the world go by. 07:00, a Sainsbury’s meal deal for breakfast. 08:00, The Posset Cup for a fruit based drink and a bottle of Welsh Water before some Fine Ales. Curry Thursday despite there being a World Mango Chutney shortage. When you discover the Siren’s Calling doesn’t open until 16:00 on a Thursday. Back to The Posset Cup for a Doombar then check into The Premier Inn.
Planned and Planning
When do you plan your departure so that you don’t get stuck with all the motorway traffic, that’s a quality plan. When you turn up at The Siren’s Call just after 13:00 and you see that they don’t open two until 16:00 on a Thursday. That’s a total lack of planning. Anyway, it was breakfast meal deal from Sainsbury’s and then straight into The Posset Cup for 08:00, some orange juice and some bottled water which was from Brecon. Then a couple of pints, a can and a Curry Thursday. It wasn’t so bad, anyway returned back to the Posset Cup for a pint of Doombar. Then checked in to the Premier Inn.
20230617 Prelude mb09 Portishead June 23
An Optimised Traffic departure and because there are no early opening, nearby Coffee Shops in Portishead. Then, a Sainsbury’s meal deal sitting in the car. 08:00 in the cool of The Posset Cup and at 11:30 a Curry Thursday. All afternoon in The Siren’s Calling.
Glitch – Electric Bear – 4.6% ABV.
Tiny Rebel Newport, Monday, the 19th of June 2023. There seems to be an Electric Bear Tap takeover. This is Glitch and it’s on cask, it’s rather nice, rather complex, bitter fruity, peppery and hoppy. Half tidy.

When even if it rains, pre departure, you get the watering can out. My make your own Coffee stop off point was raining. The rain stopped and the tyre pressure warning light came on. They looked OK but I topped them off. Tesco for a Full Mid Welsh. Parked up in The Elephant and Castle, Fine Ales followed.
On to The Sportsman, a CAMRA / Wye Valley pub. Well kept ales and then the find of the day, The Brew Hut. Coffee, Cask, Kegs and Cans. Very friendly and very fast WiFi upload. Ales from 09:00, closed Mondays. Then my Anker charger failed.
Pressure Warning Instead Of Coffee
It rained pre departure, it rained during the journey up and at my planned stop off to make some Coffee. When it stopped raining the tyre pressure warning came on. I stopped, the tyres were fine but it topped them off anyway. Newtown’s Tesco for a Full Mid Welsh. Parked up at the Elephant and Castle and into the local Spoons where I started on the Purple Moose.
ADSL #+ WiFi with a rather slow upload. Thinks improved greatly in the Sportsman but they have a limited cask selection of only two Wye Valley ales. However, they did have Salopian Beer Mats. The find of the day was the The Brew Hut, Coffee, Cask, Keg, Cans and Bottles. Fast uploads also. On the must revisit list, now.
