Pressure Warning Instead Of Coffee
It rained pre departure, it rained during the journey up and at my planned stop off to make some Coffee. When it stopped raining the tyre pressure warning came on. I stopped, the tyres were fine but it topped them off anyway. Newtown’s Tesco for a Full Mid Welsh. Parked up at the Elephant and Castle and into the local Spoons where I started on the Purple Moose.
ADSL #+ WiFi with a rather slow upload. Thinks improved greatly in the Sportsman but they have a limited cask selection of only two Wye Valley ales. However, they did have Salopian Beer Mats. The find of the day was the The Brew Hut, Coffee, Cask, Keg, Cans and Bottles. Fast uploads also. On the must revisit list, now.
In a New Vision World
I think Vision Pro will slowly change computing, meanwhile in Gloucester it was grey and cool again. Grey and cold. Both Gloucester Spoons and an afternoon of Fine Ales in The Pelican Inn.
There Will Be A 2023 Oktoberfest Gloucester
I knew there was going to be a cold wind to start but it was grey and cloudy and definitely not High Summer. I decided to stay on the Quays, because I am lazy and I wanted to shake things up about. Brewhouse and Kitchen scores very highly on customers service an CAMRA discount but not on the WiFi.
Warehouse 4 now has a sour but it only had a third left. Maybe 22p worth? Talked to a Manager who confirmed that Gloucester Brewery will be having an Oktoberfest in 2023. The Apple web store is down.
Debris On The Bridge
eaving early, delayed and stopped on The Second Severn Crossing while a Policeman swept up Debris. Into The Lord High Constable and starting with an Unique. Cheese and Onion Rolls and a Pint of Murk to start in The Pelican. Another semi Birthday Ale, this time half Norwegian at 12% ABV.
Coconut Non Birthday
The start of the 3rd day and there is still a cold wind. Into The Beefeater for the Premier Inn All You Can Eat Breakfast. Videoed it because Reddit amongst other things. A Sunday morning Pint in both The Lord High and The Regal. Another Non Birthday, Birthday Ale in The Pelican. This time a Coconut Stout. Then one with Verdant and finally a non Wiper and True but from a Social Enterprise.
Filled Rolls and Morris Men
A sunny start but again it’s chilly. Premier Inn Full English then back on the Bespoke Brewing at The Lord High Constable of England. Conwy Brewery in The Regal. Moving on to The Pelican in the strong Bank Holiday Sun. It was open when I arrived and there were Cheese and Onion Rolls on the Bar. Then a group of Morris Men arrived. I saw them later out in the beer garden Morris Dancing.
With Sats and Sun in my Eyes
You wake up early and you get free Sats by listening to Podcasts on the Fountain app. Leaving just before official dawn and it’s pull the sun visor down as the May Sun is low in the sky. A chilly arrival at Gloucesater, check the car in and Coffee and a Bacon Roll in the rather expensive Costa Coffee. Wandering along the Canal and it’s into The Lord High Constable of England. Which Bespoke Brewing Ale should I have. Then a touch of BrewDog. Mastodon encouraged me to go to The Regal and then it was no Morris Dancing in the Turks Head. The Pelican was even faster WiFi and all Cask Ale.
Huh, Spring Only Lasted One Day
You can’t beat quality comments. The rain is back, so I got slightly wet going to get my Premier Inn all you can eat breakfast. New craft cans in Spoons and it’s a corker. Listening to ATP. And another new craft can.
More gentle rain on the way to The Siren’s Calling. Mild and ESB to start both on Cask. Sometimes Old School is the way forward. Oh yes, Cantillon Gueuze as well.
The Half and Half Beano
When you have been there before but only to the Premier Inn. When it is only 39 miles from home, which is just as well as you only have half a tank. When you are rather happy because Spring has finally arrived. However, it was very foggy on the M4 and I mean a Peas Souper.
Portishead was calm and less foggy. I think I’m really going to like it. There is an iBis Budget and a Lidl in the same builder. The Spoons, The Posset Cup is not bad and has really fast FTTC WiFi. A Full English with a Pint was consumed.
The Siren’s Call. Great Cask, Keg and Bottled Ales. Also, you can bring food in from the chippy next door.
Frosty Saturday Beano Training
Another Saturday morning, another late April frost. Off to Caerphilly for an #mb05 training session.

Caerphilly is lovely, especially with the Castle but Oh, the litter, it’s everywhere. Never mind, it’s on to The Malcolm Uphill with my CAMRA 50p voucher in my hand.
So next weekend it’s both days with Premier Inn, all you can eat breakfasts. So I’m also getting in training for that. Asked for extra butter than was cold and got it too. The cold butter is so much better.
Then on to Brew Monster Caerphilly. A brew house and much faster WiFi then The Malcolm Uphill. On the Mezz for the first time ever.

Quality brews, brewed on site and now some rather good guest brews including from The Vale of Glamorgan Brewery

Solid training with fast Brew Monster WiFi and I ended up rather sleepy.
