Reading meets Germany with Onions
Bacon Roll and Coffee, Obvs. Single Spoons with Lager. A Rugby Tank and a Dock Bridge up. Introduced a CAMRA member to Untappd. Finished (sort of) The German Ales and there was a fruit sour from Reading. Next year or Weymouth. The joy of choice. The joy of Beanoing.
In An Oktoberfest Hat
Day 01 of The Gloucester Brewery’s Oktoberfest 2019. It rained a bit but we are are good in the rain. I was given a free Oktoberfest hat. The Ales were Fine and the excellent guy with the guitar from last year was back again. There was a burger and a German sausage. Tomorrow looks rather good as well.
Markdown Curry Thursday
The practice day for #MB14 the Gloucester Brewery Oktoberfest. Suffering from lack of Motorway lights, computer systems that don’t talk and smokers that don’t close doors. However, some rather different Fine Ales, MacSparky’s Markdown guide and some Topcashback cashback. All ready for some Fine German Oktoberfest Ales tomorrow. It’s a drizzly end to the day.
Replacement Can Half Saturday
The Indian Summer has gone, it’s getting dark in the mornings and the rain, well the rain, it doesn’t stop. Also as it’s the end of the month, times are getting hard. So it’s only a half day in Caerphilly and an emergency Autumn haircut. The replacement for the Sixpoint cans have arrived in Wetherspoons. One from BrewDog and the other from Oakham Ales. They are not bad but I preferred the Sixpoint Ales. It was a Cloud Burst day and I was home for One.
The International Rainbow Project 2019
The last Beer House Beano of Summer or Indian Summer 2019 #mb13. A dark journey in, cool to start and then it got up to 24c, the Beer House Front Door was wide open. The star of the day was The International Rainbow Project 2019. UK and USA brewers producing some wonderful ales and the pump clips are all the colours of the rainbow. Going to put that down for a revisit next day. Good times that pass very quickly. Hello Autumn with your Yellow Rain Warning.
A Sporting Belgian
Autumn (The Fall) hit’s the beautiful Lower Rhymney Valley with only the first day as an Indian Summer. Cardiff where only Wetherspoons have sensible opening times (says me). Ending up in The Head of Steam where the live Untappd feed is only upstairs now. Belgian low alcohol ales and it is as good as the full fat. Power and USB sockets all over. It didn’t rain.
