20221125 mb13 Day 01 Wrap
It’s been since June and with a dry start but with spray. Not keen on dipped headlights. Hereford is Christmasy but there are no lights on the tree. Costa Coffee and Bacon. Almost no Luxury, Festive Mince Pies. Wales were awful and Senegal are now the boys. The Orange Tree is first class and their Cobs at £2.50 are huge. Didn’t quite make The Beer in Hand.
DT: Friday World Cup Updates
For Friday 25 November 2022

England and Wales
Starting without my wake up coffee is mainly a sign of my age. However, Pro Plus a half hour before I leave to keep me on my A game. Costa then the Kings Fee for the Wales match. West Midlands craft cans but sadly no Luxury, Festive Mince Pies. Wales were poor and Iran deserved to win. The Orange Tree is a must visit and the £2.50 cobs are excellent. I’m supporting Senegal now.
Friday Lunchtime at The Orange Tree
A Black Country Ales Pub, ex The Firefly. 12 Handpumps and the £2.50 Cobs are the way forward. Solid password WiFi.
20221125 Prelude mb13 Hereford Nov 22
This is the Prelude for #mb13, which has its own Pre Prelude. This time I am the right way round. I’m back in Hereford for the first time since June and it’s been far too long. Wales v Iran and 10:00 and there will be lots of Fine Ales. Semi Festive too 🎄
The mb12 Journal – Monmouth November 2022
The mb12 Journal – Monmouth November 2022
Various odds from this Autumn mini beano. Thoughts, tech, beer and food. Casual and unrehearsed. And back to Monmouth but just for 24 hours. Despite the fact I said it wasn’t for for, mainly due to the lack of craft ale. It’s a return because it is close, easily accessible and Spoons open at 07:00 (bar opens at 09:00).
A frosty start. Two hot water bottles on the dash. Coffee and a Luxury Festive Mince Pie to start in The Kings Head. No problems with the egg supply in Spoons. Good quality Full English with extra butter. 6.5/10 and I’m a hard marker.
Hazy Beers that weren’t and should have sat long in the cellar and a Bottle of Boss that was actually quite good. I watched the Rugby and Wales lost.
Asking questions, yes you can walk into a Premier Inn for breakfast if you aren’t staying there. However, only if they have enough space and it will be more expensive than booked on line. So the overall rating for The Premier Inn All you can eat is 8/10. What would I improve. Bigger plates please.
To sum up. Wetherspoons good. Premier Inn very good. Slightly different products and different accessibility. However Bacon.

Of Apple and Eggs
Mostly Apple kit. A Beano where you want to start early and review Full English. Yes, The Kings Head have Eggs and extra butter is no problem. I had to defrost the car and it was only just getting light as I arrived. Two Festive Ales on at The Kings Head and at £2.29 a Pint, that’s not too shabby. Two of the regional ales and I didn’t move on. I even saw a bit of the Rugby. Wales lost.
