Cheltenham Newbie

Optimised for light departure doesn’t always work on a weekday and then you hit the rush hour, however I think I did the best I could do. 35 minutes from the Premier Inn to Spoons. Again the best I could do ie in the middle between town and Deya. Really like The Moon Under Water and iPad Mini 6 is running like the wind. No Jelly scrolling.

The Bank House, two floors and the smell of Curry Thursday. Of the two Spoons, The Moon Under Water wins.

20211007 – Prelude mb04 Cheltenham October 21

With the weather turning warmer again (Delta) and an optimised leaving time, mb04 is already looking good. Mostly light, mostly off M5 traffic traffic jams. However I got to the Premier Inn without a bump. Due to the location of the Deya Brewery, the Premier Inn is 35 minutes walk from the City Centre and Spoons. Weather, drizzle the dry all over. Exploring the City Centre and drinking Fine Ales today. May also get fit?

An Autumn Monday

Or Fall depending on where you are. Monday in Spoons is Monday Club and much quieter after the weekend. With regards to Angie’s Bar, two things, use Google Maps to find them and take cash. It’s tiny indoors but they do, do filled rolls. List under must visit.

Also under must visit is The Pelican Inn, especially in the rain. The Landlord is now a friend on Untappd. Can’t beat that!!

Self Servicing Beano

The rain has stopped, the Premier Inn WiFi is surprisingly fast (still not that fast) and I am full of their Full English. The Lord High Constable of England (Spoons) has Brecon Carreg Water and 38/17 WiFi.

Warehouse Four opened on time and is still very much work in progress. However, all the basics are they. Seats, beer, WiFi and power. Friendly welcome, good beers and sofas to boot. The only issue is that all the beers I tried were too lively and I got underserved. Nothing too serious and it’s only a teething problem. Definitely going to come back.

Tank, also part of the Gloucester Brewery and back across the bridge from Warehouse Four. More foody and some great Craft Ales on Keg. Today’s it’s some winner’s from Bath’s Electric Bear.

The Art of Timing

The M4 between the second Servern Crossing and the M5 between the M4 and Gloucester are both unlit, so I’m aimed to leave just as it was getting light. It worked out really well, so I parked up, had a Bacon Roll and Coffee in Costa and still arrived at The Regal (Wetherspoons) Gloucester for 08:00. The pub and the bar opening time.

The Regal quickly filled up both with professional drinkers and Rugby fans. Despite the high positive test result numbers it looks like the Rhonda is only having a marginal effect. Oh and The Regal has a King Kong model as well.

Still raining but the Pelican opened at the dot at 12:00. Awesome Pub, Awesome Ales and an Awesome welcome. New WiFi password as well. Rained a lot as well.

Belgian Practise Needed

Well this video is all over the place. A mixture of poor memory and overdoing it on the finest of Belgian Ales. That and spending way too much time in The Tripel B Belgian Cafe. However very good times and The Bacon Baguette was first class. Finishing off in The Plough was awesome put I was far too intoxicated and sleepy.

The Barman Calls His Mother Dude

The first Mini Beano after the 2021 lockdown. Worcester after a M40 stop at Michaelwood North. Lots of Coffee and Bacon and AM drizzle.  Everyone and their mother gets called Dude in the Hop Lords. A new craft bar and warm afternoon sun. Life is looking much better.
