20230623 Prelude mb10 Hereford June 23
Starting in Premier Inn, Portishead with an All You Can Eat Full English. It’s rather cloudy. Then avoid the traffic with a late start, it’s off to Hereford via Newport. Get Petrol, park up and then a Costa with a Bacon Roll. The Orange Tree for Real Ales and Filled Rolls.
20230617 Prelude mb08 Newton June 23
mb08, starting in Wales, overnighting in Wales and finishing in Wales. A little rain pre start but I still got the watering can out. I planned on stopping, mid journey and having a Crusader II boiled coffee. However it was rainy and the the tyre pressure warning light came on. Stopped a little later when the rain slowed and pumped both fronts up. They were fine. By now the coffee window had gone. So, I cleaned the brake dust off my hands and some ferns and restarted my journey to Newtown. Full Mid Welsh in the local Tesco.

The reason why I’m back at Gloucester Quays less than a week after I left. Debris on the bridge and my slightly earlier start. Cut out the cold Northerly wind and exchange it for some rain. All that and Bagpuss and WWDC.

Free Sats by listening to Podcasts on the Fountain App pre departure. A gentle drive up without the need for optimisation but with the sun visor down. Sunny but fresh on arrival and Coffee and a Bacon Roll in the now very expensive Costa Coffee. This is quality Beanoing.
20230407 Prelude mb04 Hereford Apr 23
The body falling apart Easter Beano to Hereford. Conjunctivitis, a funny shin and a blocked ear. However, The Beanos must go on. It has it’s own routine and Fine Ales fix all. Also, there will be some bacon and coffee too. Going for bars of chocolate instead of Easter Eggs, as times are hard.
Frosty but mostly light on the journey up and a temperature of just 1c on arrival. So of my hearing came back too. So things can only get better. Happy Easter Beanoing.
Some slight technical issues. Mostly missing videos. The joy of Tech Beanoing.
20230106 Prelude mb01 Hereford Jan 23
The first Mini Beano of 2023 and the usual January issue of closed pubs. Redone my schedule and I think I have got it beat. Too dark for optimised departure, obviously. A windy start at home and a calm and cooler arrival in Hereford. It’s good to be Beanoing in 2023.

This is the Prelude for #mb13, which has its own Pre Prelude. This time I am the right way round. I’m back in Hereford for the first time since June and it’s been far too long. Wales v Iran and 10:00 and there will be lots of Fine Ales. Semi Festive too 🎄
20221016 Prelude mb11 Malvern Oct 22
A new place, Great Malvern and a relaxed Sunday journey up. A 90 minute journey up and a Premier Inn just on the edge of town. Late start, mostly travelling in the light. Aiming for a Gentle Beano. Update, 45 minute work from the Premier Inn to Spoons. Getting a taxi tomorrow.
20220930 Prelude mb10 Gloucester Sep 22
The months finally catch up with the mb numbers, well at least from the second day. Back to The Gloucester Brewery Oktoberfest for the first time since 2019 and yes I will be taking my hat. Three days of Festing then two days in The Pelican and yes lots of Tech. Late in, a blow dry hair fire alarm start.
