Oktoberfest in October
Tech Beer Beanos often mean that even when you get up early you are running late. Faster upload speeds would help here. The Saturday Wrap from The High Constable Of England with for the first time, additional lighting. Brewhouse and Kitchen for 10:00 only to discover that the bar doesn’t open until 11:00. Nice Coffee though. So, running out of Festbiere and truncated video due to live music and and similar. Packed out on a Saturday afternoon.

20220930 mb10 Day 01 Wrap
The Hat, the Gentle Mist, The Severn Pea Souper and The Firm Alarm evacuation on arrival. Cheaper Costa Meal Deal and a morning in The Lord High Constable of England. A QR, A Glass, A Geography Lesson then a HotDog with Sauerkraut. These and poor weather are what Mini Beanos are all about. Very Good Times.
The First Hat Wearing Since 2019
The first Gloucester Oktoberfest since 2019 and the hat is back in action. Apart from the peasouper on the Severn Bridge there were pretty patches of mist on the way to Gloucester. Someone, blow drying their hair set the Fire Alarm off at Premier Inn Gloucester Quays. Costa Coffee and The Lord High Constable of England for the Prelude. It rained, the Internet went down in Warehouse 4 but I had a positive attitude and genuine Okoberfest Biers. Back tomorrow and Sunday for more, also I had Chips and Sauerkraut.

20220930 Prelude mb10 Gloucester Sep 22
The months finally catch up with the mb numbers, well at least from the second day. Back to The Gloucester Brewery Oktoberfest for the first time since 2019 and yes I will be taking my hat. Three days of Festing then two days in The Pelican and yes lots of Tech. Late in, a blow dry hair fire alarm start.
High Chairs and Termites in Dorchester
I have a real soft spot for Dorchester. It’s a great town and it’s part of West Dorset CAMRA’s demise. It was and still is a Beer Town, so is always worth a visit.

The local Spoons The Royal Oak – rear entrance

And from the Front

My favourite tables along the wall are now high tables, I’m not sure why. Anyway, always a friendly welcome here. Opens at 08:00, Bar opens at 09:00.

All tastes are covered for in Dorchester. Me, I think The Teddy Bear Museum is the way to go.

I’m not sure what happened to Tom Browns? It used to the Tap for the Dorset Brewing Co but now it seems to be a semi open bring your own food Greene King Pub. A bit of a shame. However The Blue Raddle is just around the corner.

A Good Sign. A Very Good Sign.

A traditional Pub with traditional opening hours. However with covers of Private Eye on the walls of the Gents. Reminds me of the days when Spoons used to have The Daily Telegraph on the walls of the Gents.

What more could you ask for and yes the WiFi was good, free and not captive portal. The Ales and Ciders were pretty good too.

I have to be honest, this is my favourite Pub in Dorchester. Great and varied selection of both cask ales and bottles and cans. Great people who run it. Very clean toilets and wonderful punters.

Be nice to the Termites, they love Cask Ale too

They have Jugs too.

And I haven’t mentioned Goldies or the Brewhouse and Kitchen. The sun shone in Dorchester too.
