Superglued 10p
Strangely no frost but it was dark, chilly and with a hint of damp before my Premier Inn Full English. A 10p was superglued to the table in The Posset Cup.
Back to The Siren’s Calling. Drinking all Local Ales with some winners in cans. Nippy out. Guy playing Guitar. Nothing Else Matters.
Belgian and Bristol
Looking out of the window and seeing all the parked cars frosted up. Two hot water bottles on the dash, half an hour better I left. No frost in Portishead and three guest ales in The Posset Cup.
It was a bit sunny. The Siren’s Calling was all Belgian and Bristol Ales. Rather expensive chips from next door as well. Tech support and Red Sky at night. Good 2024 times.
Poor Driving Conditions
Wet, windy and cold with a 40 mph speed limit on the M4 due to poor weather conditions. It was light when I arrived at the Chippenham Travelodge, which is in easy reach of a Tesco Express, The Railway Station, Sainsbury’s Local and the town centre. The Prince of Wales is just down the road from the station. The local Spoons, The Bridge House is on the banks of The River Avon but is let down by slow WiFi.
The Prince of Wales Micro. Awesome but no WiFi, so sit near the window. Awesome welcome, awesome Ales and awesome Merch too. I have to return. This has been a quality Beano.
The Sunday Oktoberfest
Start the day with a Premium Inn all you can eat Full English. The Tomato was intentionally left raw. The Lord High Constable of England had another Salopian Brew on Cask. Red October to start, nice and malty. The sun came out and the temperature went up. Did all the Festbiers and an Arbor too.
The Staying Awake Day
Lots of Costa Coffee to keep me awake today but then Salopian and BrewDog citrus hoppiness turned up to spoil it all. First time in a Five Guys, wish the burgers were wider not taller and the small serving of chips is plenty. Not cheap but very good.
Back to The Pelican, Gloucester. Fine Ale and Fast WiFi central. You don’t often see Deya on cask. Lots of Rugby fans and then it went quiet.
British And Original Festbiers
Dark start. No street lights and 20 mph, Oh the joy. The traffic seemed much faster on the M4 today. The M5 was pleasant as dawn gently arrived. Extra Nectar points at the local Sainsbury and no Bacon Roll and Coffee breakfast deal at the Gloucester Quays Costa Coffee. A new carpet in The Lord High Constable of England.
The Brewhouse and Kitchen and falling asleep in Warehouse 4. Did I want a glass of water?
August’s Humid Last Gasp
As it already turns more Autumnal, it Spoons Full English and a Pint for Breakfast. Extra Butter but at no extra cost. Walking to the Hereford Beer House it was spotting and rather humid. Sitting in the corner of the Hereford Beer House was the most relaxing best of times. Fine Ales Plus.
Jugs and Coups
Begin the day with a Costa Cappuccino and Bacon Roll. A touch of Aircon too. A Jug in Spoons, didn’t ask for one, just happened. The Beer House with lots of fans. Fine times indeed.
Planned and Planning
When do you plan your departure so that you don’t get stuck with all the motorway traffic, that’s a quality plan. When you turn up at The Siren’s Call just after 13:00 and you see that they don’t open two until 16:00 on a Thursday. That’s a total lack of planning. Anyway, it was breakfast meal deal from Sainsbury’s and then straight into The Posset Cup for 08:00, some orange juice and some bottled water which was from Brecon. Then a couple of pints, a can and a Curry Thursday. It wasn’t so bad, anyway returned back to the Posset Cup for a pint of Doombar. Then checked in to the Premier Inn.
