20240329 Prelude mb05 Gloucester March 24
The cold, Good Friday mini beano but at least the journey up was light, even if the clocks go forward over the weekend. Quicktime Player and a 1.45GB short, well that’s not good.
The journey up was much lighter than I thought it would be but not forecast, it rained all the way. With some very heavy rain on the M5. Costa’s website didn’t say that it would have later opening on Good Friday. Sainsbury’s opened as normal on a Friday and its website confirmed that.
Breakfast was in Spoons, not Costa therefore and it was cheaper too. Gloucester Brewery, The Pelican and The Hop kettle throughout the weekend.

The mb12 Journal – Gloucester September 2023
So no deal on Bacon Rolls and Coffee at the Costa Coffee next the The Gloucester Quays Premier Inn. Slightly scary at £7.55. Making it back by using as much of their WiFi as possible. Times are hard.
Next to The Tank Craft Beer Bar, the Canal Bridge rises to let a narrow boat through. An interesting start to the day.
My first time at a Five Guys. Small chips are enough.
Inside of the The Pelican Inn and inside of Gloucester Brewery’s Warehouse 4 Sunday afternoon Oktoberfest.
20231001 mb12 Day 03 Wrap
Begin the day with a Premier Inn all you can eat Full English and wash it done with a Pint of Darwin’s Origin from Salopian at The Lord High Constable of English. Squeezing in between the two a new contact lens order. Boosting The New Media Shown and Podcasting 2.0 with Sats. Loaded up with food at Sainsbury’s and again extra Nectar points. Arrived early at Warehouse 4, a whole 7 minutes early. Too loud, getting old.
The Sunday Oktoberfest
Start the day with a Premium Inn all you can eat Full English. The Tomato was intentionally left raw. The Lord High Constable of England had another Salopian Brew on Cask. Red October to start, nice and malty. The sun came out and the temperature went up. Did all the Festbiers and an Arbor too.
The Staying Awake Day
Lots of Costa Coffee to keep me awake today but then Salopian and BrewDog citrus hoppiness turned up to spoil it all. First time in a Five Guys, wish the burgers were wider not taller and the small serving of chips is plenty. Not cheap but very good.
Back to The Pelican, Gloucester. Fine Ale and Fast WiFi central. You don’t often see Deya on cask. Lots of Rugby fans and then it went quiet.
For Saturday 30 September 2023
The Saturday Wrap for 30 September 2023. 100%, Fountain App, Trains, American Pie, Foundation End, Big Bag, Trangia Burger, More planting, packing, checking tickets, more free beer, Sonoma, Storm Agnes, Manchester, mb12, Oktoberfest Gloucester.
20230929 mb12 Day 01 Wrap
Not only no street lights but 20 mph. The M5 as it gently got light while the M4 was a racing track. Bonus Nectar points while there was no Breakfast deal in Costa Coffee. The canal bridge rises twice. A new carpet in The Lord High Constable of England. Märzen in the Brewhouse and Kitchen. A gentle start to Oktoberfest Gloucester. No food van but plenty of beer and another glass. I fell asleep and was offered a glass of water.
British And Original Festbiers
Dark start. No street lights and 20 mph, Oh the joy. The traffic seemed much faster on the M4 today. The M5 was pleasant as dawn gently arrived. Extra Nectar points at the local Sainsbury and no Bacon Roll and Coffee breakfast deal at the Gloucester Quays Costa Coffee. A new carpet in The Lord High Constable of England.
The Brewhouse and Kitchen and falling asleep in Warehouse 4. Did I want a glass of water?
