It’s The Little Things That Matter

Like will the bus be on time or will it even turn up? Will it hammer down with rain? Will I have enough things to moan about? So, dry and the bus was on time.

Newport was, well mostly closed before 08:00, still repairing the fire damage and minus one Spoons. The Queens Hotel. I will miss it.

With only one Wetherspoon in the City Centre, The John Wallace Linton, that now is the earliest to open and that is at 08:00. All the coffee Shops are 08:00 too. Still not back to whatever normal.

And so to Breakfast. BrewDog and Bacon seemed to hit the mark. Ordered on the app and I didn’t go for any sauces. Full disclosure, I am a BrewDog shareholder.

And it wouldn’t be me with out a tech failure. Here’s a tip, if the app says the beer is out of stock but you can see it in the fridge. Always go with your eyes. Still AB InBev.

Next was the Pen & Wig, Newport edition. Great welcome and a LocAle brew that became a 1K tweet, which for me is rather good. Good to be back on the cask. CAMRA member after all.

You can’t just have Fine Ales even if it is a Welsh Cake Stout. You need chips and you need chips from the Harbour Fish Bar. By the way it nearer to the Railway Station than it is to any Harbour. Always a good weather discussion going on there too.

Had a booking for Tiny Rebel Newport and I was sadly 10 minutes late. No problem and because I was a single booking I was put in the corner next to the power, my favourite spot.

Ordering was either via waiting staff or via a table QR code which tales you to an ordering website. Second tip of the day, the table number is written on the side of the hand sanitiser bottle. He’s the cream of the crop an 8.0% ABV Apricot and Vanilla IPA.

Little things win out
