DSCN6526 Hot, dry and humid.  A touch of drizzle later.
DSCN6527 Soviet style, tree lined boulevards.
DSCN6528 I’m in the same room but on the 6th floor not the 8th.  The carpet isn’t quite as good.

Monday 25 June Keeping ahead of the rain

It was an early start, it fact it was Sunday.  The taxi driver was good and rather good value for money.  I’ll be using Civic again.  Stopped at Newport and Bristol but not at Chepstow and Reading.  The guy in the seat next to me spent the journey farting in his sleep.  Not the best start to a holiday.  Arrived at the Central Bus Station five minutes early.Empty Heathrow

Security was fun and it wasn’t just that I had to take my trainers off and walk around in my socks.  I took all my metal goods out of pockets etc and put them in a clear plastic bag ready for security.  I was told that I could only take one bag through security, so I had to put my metal goods back from whence they came.  And of course when I can to the X-ray machine, they all went back in the bag.  How that protects anyone is beyond me.  Still as you can see from the picture, I was one of the first through and the bar wasn’t open, so I downloaded Twit and the Daily Telegraph podcasts.

No boarding yet Anyway nothing on the board, so I had a Magners and a large Cappuccino.  Immediately the flight came up on the board.  5 minutes walk to the departure lounge and straight on.  Airbus 319, seat F13.

Heathrow's Hostile Sky

See no rain but equidistant from the toilets.

My Pane

Tegel, half an hour wait for the luggage.  The German’s haven’t quite got the hang of a speedy turnaround.
